About Rhyme & Reason

Rhyme & Reason is for people who are smart, driven, and have feelings.

I’ve spent decades figuring out how to get thoughts, emotions, relationships, interpretations of the world, actions, and self-beliefs balance in the big picture of our own making.

Rhyme & Reason is for you if:

  • Your life is a multi-layered experience with many factors to consider.

  • You rely on your brain and willpower to push through and succeed but are increasingly in situations in which, no matter how hard you work, you’re not accomplishing what you desire.

  • You want to understand and learn from what life throws your way.

  • You want strategic and practical support for thorny situations, such as:

    • Conflict, discrimination, and boundary-pushing

    • Figuring out who you truly are, developing agency, and asserting yourself

    • Family, relationship, and friend conflicts, disconnections, and repairs (or figuring out if repairs should even happen)

    • Romantic reconciliation (or figuring out if reconciliation should be considered)

“Everyone deserves love. So, relentlessly love yourself and consistently be kind and true in everything you do and say, and that devotion will bring happiness and great love to you.”

About Anna Gonowon

Coaching is the third phase of my long and successful career. I have over 14,000 paid client coaching hours (over 20,000 total coaching hours), have helped tens of thousands around the world, and have the world's highest relationship reconnection rate. I am certified in Authenticity through the International Coach Federation, which is the globe's gold standard for coaching, and am one of fewer than 1,600 coaches in the world with over 8,000 paid hours. I am also certified in trauma, grief, and loss.

I help my clients realize self-love, navigate conflict, manage trauma responses, communicate effectively, and powerfully connect in meaningful relationships.

My coaching clients benefit from my extensive and accomplished corporate career in strategy, public relations, and advanced analytics.

I use my corporate and academic background and science- and strategy-based approach to:

  • Utilize my experience in high-stakes political settings to identify significant influences, factors, events, and people

  • Draw upon my award-winning public relations background to analyze behaviors and words and identify unspoken/implied messages and unexpressed needs of all involved

  • Leverage my MBA and advanced analytics work to determine possible paths to success, the strategies and tactics involved, and the probabilities of success of each path

  • Use my decades of self-work, certifications in grief, coaching, and trauma, and experience with thousands to compassionately communicate the potential emotional costs to clients

  • Examine and utilize my HIPAA-compliant database to simulate scenarios of accomplishing original client goals and explain what has worked (or not worked) for thousands

My career spans strategy, communications, and research executive roles with some of the world’s largest companies, federal and state advisory groups, and global humanitarian organizations. I have won corporate awards on the national and regional levels. I have a Black Belt in Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma, and my MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University focuses on strategy and finance. I work with a homelessness prevention non-profit and coach pro bono at a domestic violence shelter for women and their children.

The oldest of five girls to Filipino immigrants who came to the United States in the 1970s. I was born and raised in the rural, blue-collar town of Blytheville, Arkansas. I did not meet another Asian person outside of my family until I attended Duke University on a full scholarship from a foundation chaired by Hillary Rodham Clinton. I have degrees in Gender Studies, Neuroscience, and Physics.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my husband, who is a senior partner at a corporate law firm. He is the national authority in his area of law, and he has written books on the topic. I love him because he is creative, generous, kind, and dedicated. We are always laughing together.
